Founded in the Black Forest in 1874, Rieker originally produced shoes for the wealthy inhabitants of northern Italy.
Even then, Rieker gained a reputation for quality work and achieved a high level of awareness in Central Europe. The company is still the fifth generation in family ownership and a consistent focus on the consumer has shown constant growth in the past 30 years.
In the early 1970s, a new company headquarters was set up in Switzerland and the production expanded internationally. Rieker currently employs around 20,000 people worldwide, particularly in Morocco, Slovakia, Tunisia and Vietnam, where the company's own production facilities are located. We supply shoes and accessories to around 9,000 independent retailers, mainly in Europe.
Rieker's anti-stress footwear is unique. In order to meet the demands of its special constructions and to be able to react quickly to fashion trends, practically everything that Rieker sells is also produced by Rieker.
